Chile manager, Jorge Sampaoli, praised Mexico for their intensity but was unhappy with the referee’s performance in his team’s 3-3 draw with Mexico on Monday.

The Chilean side fell short of expectations as they settled for a point against an alternative Mexican side at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago Chile.

“I liked today’s game more than then one against Ecuador because they scored on their opportunities. Mexico played with intensity, while Chile attacked from all parts of the field. I think the result was just short for Chile.”

In regards to the refereeing, Sampaoli said, “it would have been a victory if the two legitimate goals for Chile would have counted.”

“In the second-half, Chile created at least eight opportunities. Mexico with one opportunity scored the equalizer,” he finalized.
