After confirming the signing of Ikechukwu Uche on Tuesday, Tigres UANL have announced that French forward Andre-Pierre Gignac has arrived to Mexico to sign with the Nuevo Leon side.
The former Ligue 1 Golden Boot winner will undergo a medical before officially signing a contract with the three-time Liga MX champions.
Gignac, 29, joins Tigres from Marseille where he made a total of 188 appearances, scoring 77 goals with L’OM.
The striker, who has also made 17 appearances with the French national team, started his professional career with FC Lorient. After convincing performances with Lorient, he moved to Toulouse, where he was the league’s top scorer for the 2008/2009 season.
It is expected that Gignac will make his first appearance in the Copa Libertadores semifinals on July 15.
