Watford confirmed their return to the Premier League for the first time in eight years as Miguel Layun’s side defeated Brighton 2-0 on Saturday. Layun watched from the bench.

Slip-ups from Middlesbrough and Norwich, combined with their fifth straight victory on Saturday, confirmed Watford a top-2 finish and a place in the 2015/2016 English Premier League.

Their promotion comes after the Hornets were relegated in the 2006/2007 season, and three years into their new ownership under the Italian owner Gino Pozzo.

Miguel Layun will look to be the ninth Mexican player to play in the English Premier League, along the likes of Carlos Vela, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, Nery Castillo, and others.
