Xolos de Tijuana suffered their first home defeat of the season as Monterrey obtained a 4-3 victory at the Estadio Caliente on Saturday night.

Monterrey scored two goals in the first-half, with Javier Gandolfi getting a goal back for Xolos before the break.

Juan Arango then equalized from a free-kick, but Edwin Cardona’s superb volley provided the visitors the advantage.

Henry Martin got a consolation goal for Tijuana after Neri Cardozo’s 78th minute goal saw Rayados win their first game away from home this season.

Despite the defeat, Xolos remain first-place in the league table.

On the other hand, the victory left Monterrey two points behind eight-place Atlas, who currently hold the last Liguilla spot.
