The Mexico U-17 national team defeated Haiti 2-0 on Monday to inch closer to a spot at the U-17 FIFA World Cup in Chile.

Mario Arteaga’s men jumped to a 37th minute lead when Pablo Lopez scored via penalty, and in the second half, Francisco Venegas’ header guaranteed El Tri all three points.

With the win, a victory against Costa Rica on Thursday will likely wrap-up Mexico’s place in October’s U-17 FIFA World Cup.
