Matias Britos headed a late winner as Pumas UNAM beat Puebla 2-1 to inflict a heavy blow in La Franja’s bid for survival.
Luis Miguel Noriega’s excellent strike from outside the box put Puebla ahead after only just 50 seconds.
Ismael Sosa provided an equalizer moments before the break when he headed past Rodolfo Cota from a David Cabrera free-kick.
In the 87th minute, Puebla’s survival hopes took a turn for the worse. Against the run of play, Matias Britos slammed a lobbing header into the net to give Pumas their third straight victory of the season.
With the result, Puebla remain last in the relegation table.
