Mexico national team boss, Miguel Herrera, has acknowledged that Pachuca’s Jürgen Damm and Tigres’ Jesus Dueñas may be called up to his squad for the upcoming friendlies in March and April.
The Pachuca winger, who performed admirably during his team’s 3-1 victory over Atlas this weekend, is believed to have been on Herrera’s crosshairs for some time now.
“Jürgen Damm had an extraordinary game this weekend, but we have to get to know him to see if he is truly ready for the senior national team. The only way to test that is with a call up,” said Herrera on a Google web chat with fans.
Likewise, Tigres defender, Jesus Dueñas, is odds-on to make the step up to the Mexico national team given his form in recent weeks of the Liga MX season.
“Dueñas has been doing things well for a while now,” signaled Herrera. “He is sure to be in one of the call ups.”
Mexico’s national team schedule includes games against Ecuador and Paraguay in March, and a friendly against the USMNT in April.
