Hector Herrera played 90 minutes as FC Porto earned a 1-1 draw at FC Basel in their round of 16 first-leg clash.

Derlis Gonzalez opened the scoring, but a second half penalty from Danilo guaranteed the 2004 Champions League winners an important away goal heading into the second leg.

Herrera’s best contribution came nine minutes after the break when he came close to grabbing an assist, but Cristian Tello’s finish was waved off by referee Mark Clattenburg for an offside.

Meanwhile, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez played 12 minutes in Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Schalke 04.

Cristiano Ronaldo headed Los Merengues into the lead before Marcelo scored a stunning strike for Real Madrid’s second.

The return-leg for both games will take place on March 10.
