Tijuana continued their great run of form by earning an impressive 4-2 win over Monarcas Morelia on Friday night.
Gabriel Hauche grabbed a brace as Tijuana ran away with a deserved victory.
The hosts came close to open the scoring in the 20th minute as Dayro Moreno picked up a pass on the right-hand side of the box but his shot forced Rodriguez to a great save.
Ten minutes later, Tijuana seized their chance from the penalty spot. Ricardo da Silva was pushed inside the box, and the referee signaled for a spot-kick. Da Silva hit the penalty past the visiting goalkeeper to put Tijuana ahead.
Tijuana started the second half strong, and in the 55th minute, Dayro Moreno gathered a Javier Guemez cross from the midfield. The Colombian beat the offside trap before firing home Tijuana’s second goal of the night. It was Moreno’s fourth goal in four games.
In the 63rd minute, Yorleys Mena struck to get one back for the visitors. Mauro Cejas sent a shot-cross from the right-wing and Mena was there to add his first goal of the season.
But home chances proved greater, and eight minuets later, Gabriel Hauche netted from a rebound off a Juan Arango free-kick to make things 3-1.
Hauche got his brace when Guemez intercepted a pass and played the ball inside for the Argentine. Hauche placed his shot past Felipe Rodriguez to give his team a 4-1 lead.
In injury time, Sansores reduced the goal deficit to two with a great individual effort, but it was too little too late.
The win temporarily places Tijuana at the very top of the table with nine points in four games.
