Morelia and Toluca played to a goalless draw at the Estadio Morelos in the second game of the 2015 Liga MX Clausura.
The Toluca goalkeeper, Alfredo Talavera, was the busier of the two goalkeepers and his saves proved vital in keeping Toluca in this game.
Toluca’s attacks came mainly from short spurts of possession and most of their chances proved to be wasteful.
Morelia arrived into this season after finishing last in the 2014 Apertura and their midfield looked more fluid this time around.
Morelia could have taken the lead in the first half, but Depetri’s long distance shot hit the woodwork.
Early in the second half, Carlos Adrian Morales sent another long-distance effort but saw his shot saved from Talavera.
Toluca looked to create pressure midway through the second half but most their shots went well wide.
At the final whistle, it was a game of few emotions. The first 0-0 draw of the season.
