Paraguayan international, Roque Santa Cruz, has signed for Cruz Azul in Mexico. The 33-year-old striker arrives from Malaga CF in Spain.

Santa Cruz has had an extensive career in Europe where he was first launched into stardom by Bayern Munich. He has made over 474 professional appearances and scored 116 goals. In addition, Santa Cruz is captain of the Paraguayan National Team.

Upon his arrival to Mexico, the striker looked unfazed by this new challenge in his career. “I can still compete at the highest level,” Santa Cruz explained,” a lot of people believe I’m at the best moment of my career.”

It is anticipated that Santa Cruz will be the highest paid player in the Liga MX.
