The 23-year-old Paraguayan midfielder, Silvio Torales, is the first signing for Pumas UNAM, following their quarter-final elimination. The player comes purchased from Nacional of Paraguay.
Torales became an important piece in Nacional’s rise to the 2014 Copa Libertadores final, and is a Paraguayan international. In total, he played a total of 178 matches for Nacional and scored 26 goals.
A few weeks ago, it was confirmed by Paraguayan media that Nacional had sold Torales to an unnamed Liga MX club. Cruz Azul had long been linked to the player, so it comes to a surprise to many that Pumas UNAM was the team.
Just yesterday, Pumas released their transfer list ahead of 2015. Among the names on the list was Martin Romagnoli, the midfielder Torales was likely purchased to replace.
