Spanish manager, Juan Antonio Pizzi, has been named new Leon manager. The appointment was first announced by Jesus Martinez, President of Leon, through Twitter. The manager last coached Valencia in July, and is set to takeover for Gustavo Matosas.

Last year, Pizzi enjoyed a relatively good campaign with Valencia, despite not qualifying to a European competition.

Pizzi is no stranger to Mexican soccer, having played with Toluca in his playing career. Among his highlights as a manager include a league title with Universidad Catolica in Chile and San Lorenzo in Argentina.
