It hasn’t been the season that Guillermo Ochoa was hoping for when he arrived to Malaga in Spain. The Mexican goalkeeper left Ligue 1 as a club icon, and his saves during the World Cup in Brazil propelled him to the very top of his professional career. However, since arriving at Malaga he has seen every single League game from the bench.
Today the “Express” in England is reporting that Liverpool have agreed a £3m deal for the Mexican international. Liverpool benched their starting goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet, very recently and there is strong speculation that the Merseyside side will dip into the transfer window in January.
Whether it is true or not, we’ll have to wait until January. In the meantime, Ochoa is likely to be handed another start midweek as Malaga face Deportivo in the Copa del Rey.
