Cruz Azul is set to begin their participation in the Club World Cup on December 13. Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Real Madrid are expected to make their debut on December 16. But that won’t be the only Mexican representation at the Club World Cup; Fabrizio Tavano is set make his start to the tournament with Auckland City on December 10.

Tavano is a Mexican 21-year-old that formed in Santos Laguna’s U-20 team. Although he never got the chance to play professional football in Mexico, the forward is now a player of Auckland City, current champions of Oceania.

Tavano was born in Mexico and moved to New Zealand at age 12. After a short juvenile career in Italy, he moved back to Mexico to play with Santos Laguna.

Now at Auckland City, he has completed a total of 8 appearances for the “Kiwi” club, scoring 3 goals and earning 5 assists.
