Erick “Cubo” Torres has signed for Houston Dynamo of the MLS as a designated player. The Mexican striker will play 6 months at Chivas Guadalajara in Mexico before returning to play for Houston in a five-year deal.
Torres was terrific for Chivas USA, scoring 15 goals in 29 matches for the Goats. His good play landed him a shot with the Mexico National Team this summer, and he was a member of the Mexico’s U-21 team that won the gold medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games.
Cubo is currently in Guadalajara for Chivas’ preseason as he hopes to be an integral part in helping Chivas Guadalajara avoid relegation in a pivotal time in the team’s history. It is expected that he will initiate full training with Houston Dynamo next summer.
