Ascenso MX side, Coras Tepic, have announced that they have named Mauro Camoranesi as their new manager for the 2015 Clausura campaign. It will be the Italian’s first experience as a manager for a club.
In spite of being born in Argentina, Mauro Camoranesi represented the Italian National Team and won a World Cup with the Azzurri in 2006. He had represented both Santos Laguna and Cruz Azul in the Liga MX before becoming an idol at Juventus.
Coras Tepic’s announcement comes only a week after losing the Ascenso MX final to Necaxa in a dramatic fashion. Following the days after the defeat, their manager Joel Sanchez announced his departure from the club. The second tier club will now look to Camoranesi to lead the club into a possible promotion into the Liga MX.
