Following his 2-goal performance against Belarus for Mexico earlier in the week, Raul Jimenez returned to Madrid to resume training with Atletico Madrid. The Mexican striker hasn’t been receiving the playing time he would probably like, but his manager Diego Simeone decided to chime in today with his reasons.

“I never stopped trusting him,” said the Argentine manager. “Raul is fine. If he doesn’t play it is entirely because of me. He has all the conditions to play. Sometimes you just need time”

“I hope he has the patience to keep working like he has because the only reason he doesn’t play is because I don’t select him. But he is doing everything necessary to play,” finalized Simeone.

Raul Jimenez will be in the squad that faces Malaga this weekend corresponding the 12th round of La Liga.
