Ronaldinho’s first season with Queretaro came to an end. Queretaro’s 2-1 loss to Jaguares meant all possibilities of Queretaro being in the liguilla have finalized. It wasn’t the way Ronaldinho would have hoped for, but he will be seeing the liguilla from home.

Queretaro came into this game with destiny very much in their own hands, but Jaguares reconfirmed their role as the surprise underdog in this year’s liguilla. They managed to take a 2-0 lead and control large portions of the game.

Ronaldinho had a couple free kicks go over the bar, before he forced the Jaguares keeper make an excellent save. It was one of Ronaldinho’s better games in the Liga MX and it was one of his magnificent passes to Camilo Sanvezzo that gave Queretaro some hope at the end.

The goal only served as a late consolation price. It did, however, confirm Camilo Sanvezzo as this season’s top scorer along with Mauro Boselli. Like that, Queretaro’s season was over.

Earlier in the week, Ronaldinho was linked to a possible move to the MLS, but rumors were quick to be dismissed. It will be interesting to see how much more influential Ronaldinho can get in the overall scheme of things with a full pre-season with Queretaro under his belt.
