Mexico Women’s National Team conquered gold in the Central American and Caribbean Games after defeating Colombia 2-0 in the final at the Estadio Luis “Pirata” Fuente.

The breakthrough didn’t come until the 74th minute when the Colombian goalkeeper managed to put the ball into her own net. Mexico doubled the lead in the 83rd minute with a Maribel Dominguez goal.

The tournament, capped off in a glorious manner, served as a perfect way for Mexico to prepare for the Women’s World Cup taking place in Canada of next year.
