Gonzalo Pineda’s dream debut season with the Seattle Sounders came to an end today. LA Galaxy defeated the Sounders 2-2 on away goals, and they will now face the New England Revolution in the MLS Cup Final.

Pineda started the game, and things looked bright for his team when Brad Evans and Clint Dempsey put the Sounders up 2-0 before halftime.

But Juninho’s away goal in the 54th minute would be the decisive factor.

Pineda was substituted out of the game in the 75th minute, and it wasn’t going to be enough for Seattle. LA Galaxy had won the previous game 1-0, and the away goal would be all they would need.

This defeat, however, caps off an amazing Seattle Sounders season that saw them win the U.S Open Cup and the MLS Supperters’ Shield.
