Mexico’s male team confirmed their place in the Central American and Caribbean Games soccer semifinals with a 2-0 win against El Salvador. The games are taking place in Veracruz, and the win puts Mexico in a firm medal position.
After going into halftime 0-0, Chivas prospect Raul Lopez opened the scoring through a free-kick that escaped everybody including the keeper.
Following a red card to a Salvadoran, Erick “Cubo” Torres capped off the win in 69th minute with a beautiful solo goal.
The win puts Mexico on top of the group and will now face Jamaica on Saturday.
