Carlos Vela took the match-ball home with a spectacular display versus Elche to give David Moyes his first win as Real Sociedad manager.

It was Carlos Vela’s second hat-trick in a year, and the scoring started early. Only two minutes had transpired when Carlos Vela headed his first goal home.

In the 31st minute, Carlos Vela would score his second in a clever breakaway.

Vela would complete the hat-trick in the 53rd minute with a delightful finish in the box.

Vela would be substituted out of the game in the 87th minute, to a standing ovation by the home-crowd.

It was one of Vela’s best performances in his La Liga career, and Real Sociedad now improve to 11th in the table and away from relegation danger.
